Bill Shaw



Bill's love of barbershop and his upbeat attitude keeps us on our toes! Bill was born in Minneapolis, MN. He is a two-tour-of-duty Viet Nam Veteran, having served in US Navy (1965-1969) aboard the USS Enterprise where, in his off-duty time, he sang in a Barbershop Chorus.

Bill comes from a musical family. His father was a charter member of the Billings Montana Barbershop Chapter in 1954. His father was also director of the Billings Sweet Adeline Chorus of which his mother was a member.

In High School Choir, Bill met his wife, Marsha. He Took her to a Sweet Adelines contest on an early date and she has been a Sweet Adeline ever since. They sang for many years in a mixed ensemble, "Friends," consisting of eight married couples. They traveled and performed in many major cities throughout the country and produced three recordings.

They have two children. Their son, Bill IV.  He plays in three bands as a bass guitarist and does vocals. Daughter Cathie was an elementary school music teacher for years and recently changed careers.  She also is a Sweet Adelines and has directed various choruses and been with different quartets.
